This beautiful home features three contrasting architectural exterior materials; stucco, rock, and board/batt. The huge logs outside draw your attention to the incredible inside. Two large handcrafted eagles overlook the front of the house, while bobcats watch the side views. This house is custom inside and out. Built with structural insulated panels, this home keeps cool in the summer and warm in the winter. A large floor to ceiling rock fireplace provides warmth and a unique feature to this amazing home.
“No better custom home builder in Pagosa Springs than HTI”
“Tor and April Hessman (Hessman Trades Inc.) combine the skills of architectural design, master builder, and financial ability with a budgetary doggedness, to produce a home for you that will be like no other. Your home will not only provide comfort but with Tor’s background in “green design” you can have a home that can operate with very low energy costs and never have to worry about things getting froze up especially if you plan on living part time in the home. This home is so tightly made with structurally insulated panels, that it is nearly soundproof.
My wife and I found Pagosa Springs was the perfect area for retirement and as a place for a getaway home near the end of my employment. We bought the land in 2007 and interviewed builders and architects periodically to make our decision. After meeting the Hessman family and seeing their work in Pagosa as well as their deep involvement in the community we looked no further and never looked back on other options. Tor designed our home using a template from a home he built earlier and of course we tweaked it with our own changes. We built the home during the winter of 2012 and in approximately 9 months later, we closed on a home that surpassed our vision.
Tor and April constantly provided pictures and feedback on the progress of our home and we were able to give input for clarification. We became friend with their family including their wonderful children.”
